Since fatigue fracture occurs under even elastic stress level, fatal accidents have not been avoided. To the fatigue crack propagation stage, high performance steel was already proposed. However, to the fatigue crack initiation problem for welded joints, there is no material solution even now. Then breakthrough trial has been researched from the view point of mechanics of materials in this laboratory.
