One of the themses in George Eliot's works is freeing oneself from egoism and growing up to become a mature person. Noting that Eliot's characters' development is similar to that of Jungian psychology, the purpose of my study is to explore how the process of Jungian Individuation (i.e. self-realization) is depicted in Eliot's novels.
