Statistical mechanics is a branch of physics where one studies probabilistic models of physical or social phenomena mathematically or numerically. In statistical modeling, one builds quantitative probabilistic models from data observed. Our research topics include the statistical modeling of students' learning from data collected in classrooms and on learning management systems, and MCMC estimation techniques.
