Photochromic molecules have achieved many functions including biomimetic systems. The aim of our study is to develop novel photochromic photofunctional materials. Recently we are focusing on the cyclization reaction from higher excited states of diarylethene derivatives, and incorporating unique molecules such as azulene and luminescent complexes with diarylethenes.
